FAMILY FUN PRIVATE TOUR

We’ll start our day with the Museum of Ancient Greek Technology, which presents a new permanent exhibition space “in the heart of Heraklion”. In a Venetian building, within a total area of 460 square meters, guests have the unique opportunity to get to know a relatively unknown aspect of Ancient Greek culture through the exhibition "Ancient Greece - the Origins of Technologies".The experiential acquaintance introduction to selected exhibits by the specialized staff it is based on interaction and is a targeted and dynamic one procedure.

We will then visit the Natural History Museum of Crete - University of Crete is housed in the renovated former premises of the Heraklion Electricity Corporation, on Dermatas Bay. At 3,500 m2, it is the largest exhibition space of its kind in the Mediterranean, showcasing the natural environment of Crete and the eastern Mediterranean in an innovative, original way.

To close our day, we will walk into Heraklion city, the fifth largest city in Greece. It is the capital of Crete. It is one of the most fascinating and vibrant cities of the Mediterranean Basin. The city is the birthplace of world-famous artists like El Greco and Nikos Kazantzakis. Visitors have the chance to admire many Byzantine churches and monasteries, many fountains from the Venetian times, the Church of Saint Markus and numerous neoclassical buildings.
